# Police and Defence

Use specialist workflows for police, protective-risk, and defence contexts.

These menu groups appear when the workspace has the related feature and your account has the required access. They add specialist work to the same CORTEX question, evidence, analysis, product, and review path.

## Police operations

| Menu item | What to do |

| **Control strategies** | Open **Create a control strategy**. Follow the guided fields and select **Retain control strategy** after review. |
| **Protective risks** | Select **Register risk**. Record the asset, threat, owner, controls, and review evidence shown on the page. |

## Defence & futures

1. Select **Defence & futures → Defence context & futures**.
2. Select or create an analytical workspace.
3. Open its enabled **Defence context** or **Futures** section.
4. Cite the evidence, state assumptions and uncertainty, and retain the review.

{% hint style="info" %}
A futures exercise explores alternatives; it does not claim that one future will occur.
{% endhint %}

See [Defence context](file:///7397340/workflows/analyse/defence-context.md) and [Futures](file:///7397340/workflows/analyse/futures.md) for the full steps.
