# Personal Dashboard

Use the tabbed workspace dashboard to move between personal work, lifecycle readiness, tactical geography and detailed tasking evidence without loading every view at once.

**Who uses this:** Requirement owner, Collector, Analyst, Author, Reviewer, Recipient.\
**Open in CORTEX:** `/`.\
**In-app guide:** `/help?topic=personal-dashboard`.

**Expected result:** You can reach your work directly and distinguish activity, readiness, missing evidence and analytical confidence.

## Before you start

* Select the intended workspace and check its purpose and protective markings.
* Use your own current account and permitted workflows; a dashboard does not grant access.
* Know which requirement you are supporting. Activity in unrelated requirements does not show its progress.
* Open Customise view after the work list for Working view, Work filter, pinned views, notifications and section order; it opens automatically when stored settings need a reset.

## What to do

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Start with My work

The default My work tab combines Act from here with the complete personal work panel.

Use its one-click links for the operational map, decision briefs, evidence memory, approved news and Pulse when current configuration and access permit them.

Online policy can supply the standard OpenStreetMap base through the same-origin gateway; Offline uses approved local packages or the bundled Natural Earth atlas without public egress.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Triage visible work and lead actions

The attention strip comes before the tool launchpad and counts overdue, action-required and due-soon items represented in this page of your work.

Wording and symbols carry urgency in light and dark themes. Forced-colour mode also gives due-soon and attention cues a dashed edge, and overdue or action-required cues a double edge.

It shows the read time and names any sections with unknown coverage; it is not a cross-workspace total.

A current Operations lead appointment exposes page-level links to the intervention queue, situation map and requirement progression, including when the personal panel is compact or Tasking evidence opens directly. A current Mission lead appointment exposes the mission portfolio.

Each destination checks its own appointment, membership and handling again.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose the view you need

Use Lifecycle for the bounded tabular requirement overview and graphical readiness, Map preview for a low-data view of the workspace area and context, and Tasking evidence for one selected requirement's detailed lifecycle.

Map preview and Tasking evidence load only when opened.

Open full-screen map from the preview for layers, retained geography and temporary files.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Read the bounded readiness list

Search, state and Owned by me are applied before paging.

Each page covers at most 25 matching visible requirements and shows its range against the exact match total.

Attention is ordered within that loaded page, not ranked globally.

Each row gives owner, priority, state, due date, an observed blocker or limitation and one direct next action.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Read the visual readiness ring

The percentage is selected and accessible lifecycle stages currently observed complete divided by selected and accessible stages.

It is a scan aid, not a claim that the tasking, evidence or intelligence product is complete.

Partial, Unknown, disabled and inaccessible evidence cannot become a green conclusion; open the detailed record to verify payload, authority, evidence, package and pins.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose a supported working view

Select analyst, report writer, reviewer, release officer or decision consumer when offered by current capability.

Mission and operations leadership views appear only with a current approved appointment.

Presets filter presentation and never grant authority.

Pin up to four useful views.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Distinguish duties from opportunities

Assigned to me requires a persisted owner, requestor or outstanding task assignment matching your current identity.

Team opportunities are eligible, unassigned review, approval or distribution work.

Read the reason, accountable person or role, source state, freshness, due time and urgency before opening the exact record.

Read, due and source update times use the same day, month, year and minute UTC format; they do not infer whether a source is stale.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Read counts and paging honestly

Use Previous and Next for the deterministic five-item page.

A numeric total appears only when every contributing server-filtered source set is complete.

Partial coverage is labelled and never promoted to a workspace-wide total.

Empty, access denied and unavailable are distinct states.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Manage presentation preferences

Choose All, Due in 7 days or Overdue; order cards; pin views; and choose whether read or informational Pulse activity appears.

Settings are versioned for your current user and workspace, including Demo accounts.

Select an active authorised workspace before saving; after an access change, reload and check membership.

A stale save asks you to reload.

Reset returns safe defaults without changing source work.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Use narrow notification actions

Mark read records personal reading against the exact Pulse event fingerprint.

Dismiss hides that unchanged informational event; Snooze hides it for one hour.

Required deadlines and approval opportunities ignore dismiss/snooze.

None accepts an assignment or completes, approves, distributes or acknowledges the source.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Select the tasking

Open the Tasking evidence tab, then use the selector to choose an authorised Direction requirement.

The detailed linked-record reader is not run on the default dashboard.

No requirement is selected implicitly.

If it is absent, refine the search or open Direction.

The five equally sized slices describe this requirement and its linked records.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Inspect a slice

Select Direction, Collection, Analyse, Product or Feedback and read the reason, source time and coverage.

Unknown means the available evidence cannot establish readiness.

Counts, approved analysis, product drafts and submitted feedback do not prove tasking completion.

Confidence and source reliability remain separate assessment dimensions.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Refresh and keep context

Use Refresh after a responsibility or linked record changes.

The header shows when the refresh was requested; each panel revalidates access before displaying its result.

The selected tasking refreshes in place where access still permits it.

Follow record links for actual decisions and saved revisions; viewing a dashboard or an activity event makes no retained workflow change.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Recover a map source

Open the full-screen map from Map preview.

On Map, a failed selected tile source exposes Use local outline.

This loads the bundled Natural Earth outline beneath existing overlays and preserves the current extent.

Read the base-source status and attribution: the outline is broad geographic context, not streets, satellite imagery or current operational boundaries.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Check the result

* Is the workspace and selected requirement correct?
* Is this a recorded personal responsibility or a separate recent activity event?
* Does the slice state have sufficient linked evidence and complete coverage?
* Have I opened the current record before making a decision?

## If you get stuck

<details>

<summary>Why does readiness say Partial, Unknown or No current access?</summary>

Partial means a bounded source was truncated or its indexed metadata was incomplete.

Unknown means the source failed safely.

No current access means a policy, prerequisite or grant is unavailable; no hidden count or link is shown.

Refresh after access or service recovery, then use the detailed source workflow.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why is my work empty or unavailable?</summary>

Empty means the current view and filter found no matching visible assignments or eligible opportunities.

Unavailable or access denied is different: verify workspace, grant, appointment and recorded owner or assignee, then refresh.

Other sections may still be usable.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why is there no total?</summary>

One or more authorised source searches exceeded the bounded 100-record window, a filter was applied, or Pulse has more record windows.

Use the source workflow or refine the view.

The dashboard will not report the displayed sample as a global total.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Are the red attention counts organisation-wide?</summary>

No. They count only represented items in the current loaded personal work page and filter.

A red row means the represented item is overdue or requires action.

Read each row's source, freshness, accountable person and protected next action.

For appointed cross-workspace work, open the separate intervention queue and check its coverage before interpreting a count.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why did a view or pin disappear?</summary>

Its required permission or explicit leadership appointment is no longer current.

The dashboard removes unsupported presentation choices instead of preserving a misleading role label.

This does not alter retained source records.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What does the readiness percentage mean?</summary>

It is the share of selected and currently accessible lifecycle stages whose bounded metadata is observed complete.

It is not task completion, analytical confidence or proof that evidence, authority, release and pinned versions are valid.

Read Partial, Unknown and access labels, then open the authoritative record.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does recent activity replace notifications or my task list?</summary>

No. Pulse shows a bounded view of recent accessible activity.

Seeing or reading an event does not accept an assignment, complete a task, acknowledge a release or resolve a review.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What is the difference between read, dismiss, snooze and complete?</summary>

Read is Pulse's personal retained marker.

Dismiss and one-hour Snooze are bounded dashboard presentation settings for the exact unchanged informational event.

Completion is a source-domain decision and is available only in that workflow.

Required deadlines and approval opportunities remain visible.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does the local outline need public Internet access?</summary>

No. The bundled world outline and available local place labels load from the CORTEX node.

When Online policy permits external mapping, CORTEX can select its reviewed standard OpenStreetMap source during normal source resolution.

Recovery itself never bypasses policy or enables a public source, and Offline never requests one.

</details>

## Responsibility and limits

* Use existing permissions and handling throughout. Reader, Analyst and Manager are access roles, not evidence of mission-lead, operations-lead, reviewer or release-officer appointment.
* Dashboard viewing, refreshing, filtering and selecting a slice do not update retained domain records. Only Mark read changes personal Pulse state; other changes must pass the normal workflow.
